Jedna z variant designu obkladu i veškerého ostatního lakování skla jsou lakované efekty.
Je to speciální systém vyvinutý italskými návrháři přímo pro interiérové skla, jako jsou napodobeniny umělých kamenů a mramorů v různých barevných kombinacích za použití stříbrného a zlatého prášku. Tyto efekty jsou hojně využívány u skleněných obkladů, kde si zákazník přeje více či méně zvýraznit jednobarevný obklad.

Float lesk – tvrzené sklo s lehkým zelenkavým nádechem
Diamantový lesk – tvrzené sklo, které je až o 80% vyčištěné od zelenkavého nádechu a je vhodné na světlejší barvy
Kombinace a použití různých barev s různým typem efektu je potřeba vždy individuálně konzultovat.
Skleněné obklady se vyznačují zejména snadnou údržbou. Další nespornou výhodou je velká mechanická i tepelná odolnost až 300°C. Díky neporéznosti mají skleněné obklady výbornou omyvatelnost. Udržují se i nejlevnějšími čistícími prostředky. Skleněné obklady a skleněné pracovní desky jsou vhodné pro alergiky díky tomu, že tvoří dokonalé antibakteriální prostředí.
